Mrs Michelle Robinson Obama (dob 17 Jan 1964)

Home: Chicago
Occupation: (Illinois) US Senator
Goal: President of the United States of America

Barack Obama personifies the "American Dream" where all things are possible.  He is a likeable intelligent fellow with a life story that lacked privilege and is relatable by  most common people. Simple, he is us. And he's Black. His dad was an African Muslim from Kenya and his mom was a white Christian from Kansas, USA. Obama was born in Hawaii, USA, August 4th 1961 as a true American Citizen. His parents separated when he was age 2. As a child he spent a few years in Indonesia, but later graduated in America from Columbia University and Harvard Law School. Obama first found his calling as a passionate Community Organizer in Chicago. He eventually became a Civil Rights Lawyer and then an Illinois State Senator in 1997. Obama then got elected as a US Senator in 2004. That year he was also noticed by many Democrats at their National Convention when he gave an inspiring speech. One by one everyone else started to notice Obama. TV's Opera also noticed Obama's amazing talents and assisted in making him a serious contender for President. However, it is the individual belief in Obama within each of us that makes an inspired connection with his message of hope. One by one, so many Americans and World Citizens are becoming true believers. [Obama].

I believe USA Senator Barack Obama will become the next President of The United States of America. Regardless, he has already made history and is likely to be a major political player for many years to come. He is only the fifth African American Senator in US history but may soon also become America's first Black President. Obama became the first Black Candidate to win a Presidential Caucus or Primary when he won the State of Iowa  3 Jan 2008 [Iowa History]. Obama won New Hampshire 8 Jan. He then also won South Carolina 26 Jan 2008 [South Carolina] giving him substantial credibility as a true front runner. Obama's message of "Hope" was gaining momentum, but it would now be clear that everyone's confidence was swinging his way. The analysis of the polls clearly shows that Obama is a trans-Racial Candidate who brings unification to America. When John Edwards dropped out of the Democratic Nomination race, it became a two person race. Refreshingly, Feb 5th Super Tuesday showed that Obama's momentum was becoming endemic with numerous State wins [Super Tuesday]. It also showed that he was hot on the heels of Hilary Clinton in the States that he lost. Interestingly, most people already have an opinion about Mrs. Clinton, however many people are individually discovering Obama one by one for the first time. For this reason I believe that with each day that passes, Obama's support will grow until he wins full popularity. To prove his trans-Racial interest, let me remind you that Alaska voted 70% in favor of Obama [Alaska]. Now you know there aren't many Brothers up in Alaska, especially in winter! Obama then won several days of elections culminating on Feb 12th when he won Washington DC, the very place that he intends to shakeup [DC]! February 19th saw two more clear wins including his birth State of Hawaii which gave Obama so much momentum that everyone is starting to get used to the idea that Obama really might be President (Leading)! On March 4th Obama maintained his lead despite competing head-on in some strong Hillary Clinton territory. He won Vermont [Victory], but more importantly gained significant numbers of Delegates in the other States. Clinton would have been pretty well out of the race if she hadn't gained some ground in what became known as Super Tuesday Two. Understandably, she used the win to suggest to the media that she was back and would win the nomination, a positive but desperate perspective that I disagreed with. Most importantly on March 8th,  Obama won Wyoming [Wyoming] and started to regain his amazing momentum towards a win. March 11 saw a clear victory in Mississippi which shows his unprecedented popularity [Mississippi].  Obama's inspiring south Chicago pastor, Rev Jeremiah Wright,  started making a few controversial headlines with comments that were out of the mainstream, and certainly ill-advised considering the big media picture [story] [RevWright]. On April 22, Obama trailed Clinton in her stronghold state of Pennsylvania that she had always been projected to win. Nevertheless, Obama gained several more delegates [Pennsylvania]. May 3rd was another close race with Obama taking the lead in this Pacific Ocean Territory [Guam]. Perhaps some of Clinton's popularity was left over from the historical visit by the Clintons in 1998 [Guam1998]? The May 6th elections were very significant for Obama because they showed that he really was the top runner. Clinton was no longer able to imagine a momentous comeback as the large numbers favored Obama, despite a narrow loss in Indiana. [Obama leading]. Obama was unable to reverse Clinton's predicted win for West Virginia on May 13th, but nevertheless continued to gain Superdelegates as the leading candidate [Is Clinton finished?]. Then Wow! May 14th sees fellow Presidential candidate John Edwards endorse Obama [Edwards]. May 20th saw Obama's lead become unstoppable with a clear win in Oregon [within-reach]. On May 31st a compromise deal was made with the States of Florida and Michigan (see: Anomaly -below) that saw Obama maintain his lead. On June 1st, Puerto Rico favored Clinton, but it seems to have no affect on Obama's momentum and popularity. The last race on June 3rd showed a clear dominate win in Montana which bumped Obama over the 2118 delegate threshold (out of 4234) and made Obama the nominee leader. [Race score]. Clinton eventually conceded  June 7th leaving Obama a clear trail to History. We've done it!

Perhaps you too should have a good look at Obama and see why he gained so much popularity. Its not just Oprah that has been intrigued by his character and abilities. His message of Hope is infectious. The historic Kennedy family endorsed Obama on 28 Jan 2008. Late JFK's daughter Caroline sighted that her children were motivated by his message of Hope. Actor Robert De Nero also came out supporting Obama in Feb 2008 and was able to specifically sight Obama's experience as the reason for his support [video: De Niro]. Obama really is the right man for the job!

When the most powerful person in the world has included a Black man, we will know that equality has truly been achieved. Imagine when everyone can dream of becoming President. That's important, so I'll repeat: Imagine when EVERYONE can dream of becoming President. A new generation of children will grow to know that that they can do anything, and an old generation can marvel that Martin Luther King Jr's Dream came true.

* Anomaly *  The Democratic Party had penalized the rogue States of Florida and Michigan because of changing their Primary election dates (internal party politics). It had been undecided how the party was going to handle this complex issue. In Michigan, for example, Obama hadn't even been on the ballot (respecting Party rules) so the Clinton victory was rather meaningless. In Florida, Obama didn't even campaign and so suffered in the shadow of the ex-First Lady who was far more known in certain social groups at that time. Nevertheless, it was thought that the States should have some sort of representation and so at a Democratic meeting on 31 May, it was mutually agreed and decided what the results would be. They compromised favoring Clinton, but penalizing the States by giving each delegate only a half a vote each . [BBC -deal] .
